news......information.......news......information…...news.....information Financial Services Authority approve Norman Global.... Norman Global have been authorised by the Financial Services Authority to provide Goods in Transit insurance cover. This is a legal requirement from 15th January 2005. According to the British International Freight Association (BIFA) only about 5% of freight forwarders in the UK have become authorised and only these companies will be able to offer this important service to their customers. BIFA predicted that there would be an increase in shipments being carried un-insured and therefore leaving the shipper/consignee open to losses when cargo is lost or damaged. Unfortunately Shippers and consignees only realise their dilemma when its too late. Too often assumptions are made that the Carrier will compensate for a loss in full, however this is not the case. Liability of the carrier in such an event can often only be a fraction of the goods value as it is usually linked to the weight of the goods only - irrespective of the value. Hence the need for Goods in Transit Cover. Norman Global will provide Insurance only on written instructions. Full policy information will be provided. for more information on this subject email news@norman.co.uk
